“In July of 2020, my husband and I brought home a rescue pup who had been given up by his last family for “having too much energy.” Little did we know that he was terrified of most everything except us.

We hadn’t had dogs since we were kids, so we hired Melanie to help us with Dunkin.  At first he wouldn’t let her near him, but she was patient and peaceful and gentle, and before long he trusted her and came to love her.  She taught us to play games with him that helped him to relax and trust his new life.  She took us to new environments so he could see strollers and bicycles and lots of other people and dogs. She even brought a horse whip with a stuffed animal tied to the end, and with that crazy thing she taught Dunkin self control!  He learned to sit quietly and wait when she asked him to, and then she would swing it around  on the ground, and Dunkin would have an absolute blast chasing it!

Melanie helped us to stop the zoomies in the house and worked with him to ease the barking at workmen outside.
